Final Thoughts

Before purchasing a pink lily for your garden, get to know the 9 horticultural divisions of lilies, as well as the distinctions between these groups.

If you’re looking for a cold-tolerant lily that comes in a broad array of colors and has little to no scent, consider something from the Asiatic family. If you’re working with dappled shade or looking for a lily that will naturalize in a wide open space, check out the Martagon lily selection. And if you’re looking for a strong scent with oversized blooms that face upward, a lily from the Oriental group will do the trick.

If your soil is well-drained and the sunshine is ample, you are likely to have good luck growing lilies of all colors. But for a soft, cottage vibe in the garden or a sweet, romantic pot on the patio, you can’t go wrong with pink.
